The Velondriake Association, and partner organization Blue Ventures, understands the need to educate young people in the Velondriake area about conservation issues. To this end, Club Alo Alo was formed in Andavadoaka in order to create a new generation of conservation-minded people with the skills needed to improve their lives and their communities through the long-term protection of local natural resources.
At least once a month, Club Alo Alo participates in an organized environmental activity with the Blue Ventures volunteers; recent activities included a beach clean-up and environmental songs and games.
It is hoped that allowing the children of the village to become aware of and involved in the conservation efforts surrounding them will foster a conservation minded approach in later life and create a generation already attuned to the efforts being made in the Velondriake network
