Valerio is one of the future superstars of Velondriake. He is the president of Club Alo Alo as well as student in the Blue Ventures scholarship programme. Here he talks about the importance of education and looking after the environment.
An environmental song and poetry contest was held in honour of the partnership launch between Velondriake, UNICEF and Blue Ventures. Emile Espritin, a member of Club Aloalo and a participant in the Connecting Classrooms project, performed a poem about the Velondriake association and the Velondriake Locally-Managed Marine Area.
The Velondriake Management Committee works hard to keep the community informed of its many conservation activities, and of how these benefit the community. To this end, in September 2011 Velondriake began producing a bi-monthly radio show, called Feom'Bezo (The Voice of the Vezo) in partnership with Blue Ventures, sharing news from across its array of projects.
